About Annapurna Circuit Trek

Annapurna Circuit Trekking one of the most scenic and rewarding adventure in whole Himalaya region, as this walk offers varied ranges with change of climate, vegetation, landscapes to people and culture of various hill tribes of Mid-West Nepal.

An adventure with fabulous scenery in the comfort of nice local lodge, where walk leads from low warm paddy fields area and villages to reach at cooler mid-hills covered with lovely forest of rhododendron, magnolia, pines and fir tree lines.

As walk progress heading much higher never missing views of snow capped peak that includes Manaslu and Lamjung Himal towards east, route leads further up towards alpine areas around Dharapani and Chame town.

Finally adventure slowly gains altitude on reaching around beautiful and scenic Manang valley enclosed within array of peaks of Chulus and Annapurna northern range with Gangapurna Himal.

Interesting walk takes you to nice Braga village and visit of its old monastery then reaching at main Manang village with time for acclimatization on this impressive village with strong Buddhist religion and interesting cultures.

After Manang heading at the end of the valley to traverse from high Manang to reach at Mustang district with long tough climb to high Thorang-la pass facing marvelous panorama of mountains views to reach at holy site of Muktinath.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Morning as per group size either in coach or tourist bus and car to reach Nepal Mid West to start our trek, as journey leads through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Besisar, headquarter town of Lamjung district.

From here following Marysangdi River to reach rural farm village at Syange for overnight stop in a nice local lodge by the River Marysangdi.

From Syange walk begins heading through rice terraces fields and villages and then with slow climb to Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.

After Jagat village walk leads past many villages of Chamje and Tal-Besi a nice hill area facing views of Manaslu and Lamjung peaks, on reaching at Tal another hour of good to Dharapani village for overnight stop, Dharapani a nice village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

After Dharapani walk along winding trail within rhododendron and pine forest through Bagachap and Danque to Timang villages, from here onwards into more Buddhist culture, along with views of Mt. Manaslu, from Timang village few hours trek to Koto and then at Chame town for overnight stop, a major town and headquarter of Manang area.

From here air gets cooler on reaching closer to mountainous area, as walk follows through alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream with few ups and down hills to Bhratang village.

From Bhratang village heading with short climb within nice pine forest to reach a high ridge at Dhukure Pokhari, a small place with few teahouses and lodge facing views of Chulus and Pisang peak, after lunch descend to lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

Pisang village offers great views of mountains, from here altitude gains slowly as morning walk leads into forest with short climb along with views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna, Chulus with Pisang peak.

After downhill walk towards flat valley at Hongde village, from here on tree lines disappears for arid and barren landscapes within cold, dry arctic climatic zone around scenic Manang valley enclosed by array of mountain range on both sides of the valley.

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

A necessary to spend a rest day to support acclimatization before heading higher altitude towards Thorang-la pass, at Manang take a short hike and explore Manang village and valley.

Manang a large and main village of area situated on a windswept valley at the bank of Marysangdi River beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald Lake. 

After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude walk with views of mountains, crossing small streams to reach at Yak Kharka, a small settlement with incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung river, then leading at Thorung Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

An early morning start of this great adventure, after breakfast a long climb leads you to steep and winding up at Thorang-la which is above 5,416 m / 17,700 ft the top of Thorang-la festooned with Buddhist prayer flags.

Highest point of the adventure certainly requires high spirit and strong mind to reach this high point.

The top offers superb vista of dramatic landscapes with high snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Today taking a temporary break on walks, as motorable has reached Mustang district from lower town of Beni and Pokhara city, where drive will be the best way to shorten the trekking days.

Morning take a jeep drive following wide road to reach down at Kaligandaki River valley and then reaching a nice town at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang area, where drive continues past nice Marpha, Tukuche and Kalapani villages with excellent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks.

As drive leads on world deepest gorge at Kaligandaki in between towering peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, then finally reaching our overnight destination at Tatopani village, located on low warmer area a place with natural hot spring as the name Tatopani means.

From Tatopani village with great refreshing time at hot spring, morning walk leads to steep short climb for an hour to a village of Ghara and then back into forest to reach a nice place at Sikha from here on to Ghorepani populated by Poon / Magar people, hill tribe of Western Nepal.

After some nice pleasant stops then walk uphill to Chitre village with grand views of Dhaulagiri mountain range, from here slow climb into beautiful pine and rhododendron dense forest to reach at scenic Ghorepani village for overnight stop.

Morning hike to Poon Hill a scenic view point a popular spot among trekkers where you can catch striking sunrise views over 360° wide panorama of Himalayan peaks from Dhaulagiri-Annapurna to Manaslu range with magnificent Machhapuchare the fist tail peak.

After enjoying fabulous moments down to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue walk on main trails within serene forest and then downhill from Ulleri village to Tirkhedhunga a small village for overnight close to nice waterfalls.

Last walk of the adventure around high hills of Annapurna as morning starts with descend into low farm areas of paddy fields and terraces and then walking with views of beautiful waterfalls as walk ends at nice village of Bhirethati, where drive take you back at scenic Pokhara for last overnight stop within Annapurna range, after a most enjoyable and scenic time on Annapurna Circuit Trekking.

Morning an overland journey to reach Kathmandu on leaving Pokhara after breakfast where drive lead on the same interesting highway to reach at Kathmandu and to your hotel, with afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities.

(Options for scenic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu of 30 minutes)

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.

  • Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal / medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
