Himalaya Lungta Treks and Expeditions present Everest Three High Passes Trekking, a longest walk within high Khumbu valley and around Everest of three weeks adventure.

Everest Three High Passes certainly excites you with awesome mountain views and as well exploring local Sherpa villages of great interesting cultures interwoven with Buddhism religion.

Everest Three High Passes an adventure that takes you around one of highest point of Himalaya range where climb leads you to traverse from one scenic area to another with ever present views of Mt. Everest and range of high peaks.

On this journey where one can enjoy beautiful scenery of dramatic landscapes, with green rolling hills of rhododendron and pine tall trees including snow capped peaks, where wonderful views follows you from the start to an end of the adventure.

Everest Three High Passes Trekking begins with flight from Kathmandu to land at Lukla a gateway town for many treks and adventure around high Khumbu and beyond, where walk leads to follow raging Dudh Kosi River within serene cool woodland.

As trek progress spending overnights at Phakding then climb to famous Namche Bazaar the largest village and main center of all Khumbu Sherpa as well for trekkers as Namche provides facilities of banks, ATM nice lodge and restaurants along with grand views of high peaks.

From Namche heading higher towards scenic Tengboche monastery an interesting place to visit surrounded by green forest and mountains with Everest in the north, as walk leads into barren and arid country to cross our first high pass over Kongma-la.

Crossing leads within narrow and faint trails walking on moraine and glacier to reach the top of Kongma-la located in between Pokalde, Nuptse and Mehra peaks to reach Lobuche and beyond at Everest Base Camp.

At Everest base camp enjoy grand views of high mountains with Khumbu Ice-Fall and glaciers and then climb the highest spot of the adventure on top Kalapathar at above 5,545 m high offers breathtaking views of mountains range that surrounds you with Everest at close distance.

Completing our first highlights where next adventure takes you over Cho-la pass to reach at beautiful Gokyo valley and its glacial lakes, a magnificent spot hidden by high peaks of Cholatse and with world 6th highest Mt. Cho-Oyu.

At Gokyo enjoying spectacular views where walk leads to cross over last and final pass of Renjo-la, as adventure leads towards steep up facing mind-blowing panorama of world highest peaks.

Crossing the third pass over Renjo-la where walk follows downhill and close to the trail of Tibet border located on famous Old Trans Himalaya Salt Trade Route, as walk descends further to reach at quaint village of Thame.

Thame situated at western end of Khumbu area a nice old village with 500 years old Gompa / Monastery, slowly walk comes to near the end of the adventure as trail follows to Namche and then back at Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu area.

An early morning scenic and short flight brings you to the hustle and bustle city life in Kathmandu after a mesmerizing time and experience on Everest Three High Passes Trekking.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Starting early morning for short scenic flight to Lukla in a small aircraft where 30 minutes air journey brings you at Lukla airport, after panorama of snowcapped mountains range with Everest.

On Landing at Lukla where the airport is called Tenzing-Hillary tribute to first conqueror of Mt. Everest, from Lukla with refreshing break follow downhill route and on gradual winding trail past nice Sherpa to reach our first overnight stop at Phakding village by the glacial river Dudh Kosi.

Morning walk on pleasant path within alpine woodland of pines and rhododendron trees with views of snowcapped peak, walk follows upstream crossing over bridges to enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo.

The park listed in world heritage sites where trail follows to a high bridge and with uphill climb to Namche Bazaar, a wonderful large village, nearly the size of a town with colorful house serves as hotels and lodge.

At Namche Bazaar the last place with facilities of ATM, Banks, post office, Cyber Café, Trekking / Climbing shops and stores with many café, bakeries and restaurants with great views of Kwangde peaks towards south.

Namche Bazaar an ideal spot for rest day and acclimatization at 3,440 meters high before heading higher elevation. Morning after breakfast take short walk to the top of Namche at Park headquarter area with a museum full of information regarding Khumbu / Everest area of Sherpa religions, culture, history, mountaineering to flora and flora.

High hill of Namche offers stunning views of Amadablam, Tharmarserku, Kantega, Kwangde, Khumbila with Mt. Everest and Lhotse towards North, after an impressive morning head back to lodge for lunch with afternoon free to relax and catch up with the dairy and browse around the street of Namche, where once a week Saturday market / bazaar takes place.  

After a pleasant rest day at Namche, morning leads to a short climb and then on nice scenic trail within rhododendron and pine trees with views of Amadablam and Everest.

As walk then descend to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga, a small place with few tea shops, a favorite lunch stop place.

With refreshing stop, second half of the journey leads to climb for few hours into cool shade of forest to reach on top at Tengboche and the monastery.

A scenic spot with grand views of Amadablam, Kantega, Thamersarkhu, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, a holy spot as the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.

At Tengboche monastery mountaineers also get blessed from high lama (priest) for successful and safe climb.

Morning enjoy panorama of mountains with Everest, after breakfast downhill into nice rhododendron and pines forest, a pleasant walk to reach a bridge over Imja Khola.

From here a slow climb to reach Pangboche village this is a last permanent village on route Everest Base Camp, after Pangboche tree lines ends for short rhododendron and juniper bushes.

Walk slowly leads with views of Mt. Amadablam at close distance, after a nice day trek reaching at Dingboche for overnight stop.

A pleasant rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization so that all can enjoy walks to reach at base camp safe and sound; from here altitude gains rapidly.

Dingboche offers views of Amadablam North Face with Island / Imjatse Peak, includes Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a short high climb to a high ridge provides views of world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu and Amphu Labtsa peaks. 

From Dingboche walk leads to eastern end of Imjatse valley at Chukung the last settlement of Khumbu, enclosed within high peaks of Lhotse and Island Peaks walking on wide valley with few short ups to reach at scenic Chhukung for lunch and overnight stop.

With pleasant time at Chhukung walk leads above Imjatse valley to enter into a gully hidden by rocky peaks and mountains to reach at the base of Kongma-la.

After short rest and then climb over a rocky faint path to the top of Kongma- la the highest pass of the adventure at 5,357 m high hidden within Mehra (Kongma) and Pokalde peaks.

From the pass slow and safe descend towards Khumbu glacier walk over moraine of ice and rocks with short steep climb to a ridge then descend to Lobuche where lodges are places in a corner with views of Nuptse and Pumori peaks.

Morning starts on gradual path and the walk above Khumbu glacier with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest, after few hours of good walk reach Gorakshep.

Gorakshep with few nice lodges the last place facilities of overnight accommodation before Everest Base Camp; after a break walk continues to Everest Base Camp climbing over moraine to reach at Everest Base Camp.

Enjoying incredible moment for an hour at base camp within Khumbu Ice fall and glacier, return journey back to Gorakshep for overnight stop after achieving high lights of the trip.

An early morning climb to reach highest point of the adventure with steep climb for few hours to the top of Kalapathar, a black rocky hill at above 5,545 meters high, offering vista of surrounding high peaks with Mt. Everest at close distance.

After an incredible moment and feeling in high spirit down to Gorakshep and continue trek towards Lobuche and then walk away from main trail to reach a hidden area at Dzongla for overnight stop, located beneath Cho-la pass.   

Starting at early morning before break of dawn and then with steep climb on icy and rocky path, after a strenuous push uphill then reaching on top Cho-la pass facing close views of Cholatse and Nirekha with Lobuche peaks.With pleasant refreshing stop descend to Thaknak for overnight stop after a long adventure over Cho-la pass.

Morning a slow and easy gradual walk to beautiful Gokyo main third lake where route leads past first and second to reach at Gokyo lakes, where houses and lodges located a little above the main lake.

At Gokyo enjoy fabulous views of Cho-Oyu world sixth highest peak with other chain of mountains.Options for hike to Gokyo Ri in the afternoon for grand super views of Cho-Oyu and Everest.

Getting ready for the last and final pass of the adventure where walk leads by the end of Gokyo Lake to reach at the base of Renjo-la, then with steady climb for few hours to reach on scenic top of Renjo-la.

From the pass enjoy fantastic panorama of world highest mountains from Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, and Everest with Makalu in the east with array of peaks, after a pleasant stop head downhill over rocks and boulders past small pond of Renjo to reach our overnight stop in a isolated place at Lungden with few simple lodge to stay.

From Lungden feeling great after crossing all three high passes where morning walk descend close to the route of Tibet border which leads beyond Nangpa-la pass, while our route takes downhill to reach past Marlung and to cross over Bhote Kosi River to reach a sleepy village of Thame.

Thame the western corner of Khumbu on route to Nangpa-la and Tashi Labtsa-la pass that leads to Rolwaling valley, at Thame with time visit the area oldest monastery of great interest.

Today a short walk for 4-5 hours, where route lead past Thamo village to reach at Namche Bazaar for overnight stop, after a scenic and pleasant walk of the day.

A pleasant and relaxing walk as route heads back to Lukla on last day trek of the adventure, with few short climb brings you back to Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest and farewell to our loyal and friendly porters.

Flight starts early morning, transfer to Tenzing and Hillary air terminal at Lukla airport on boarding the plane a sweeping flight of 35 minutes brings you back in Kathmandu and then transfer to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

A free and spare or contingency day at Kathmandu in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla might occurs sometimes due to bad and unfavorable weather conditions, if all goes well on time as our itinerary days, interested people you can book for optional tour around Kathmandu at place of great interest or free for individual activities.

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on high Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.

  • Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal / medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
