Tilicho Lake and Semi Annapurna Circuit trekking begins with exciting drive towards Nepal Mid-West within district of Lamjung at Besisar town and then heading further to start our adventure walks with climb from low warm areas to cooler alpine hills.

Walk takes you around lovely villages with well tended farms and terraces where route leads into nice cool alpine forest and beyond to reach at scenic high Manang valley.

On treks where one can find great difference of climate, vegetation with variation in cultures of different ethnic hill tribes of Mid-West Nepal, as our route enters Manang area and its impressive villages of Pisang, Braga and main Manang.

The valley of Manang surrounded by series of peaks towards North looking over Chulus and Pisang peaks where northern mountain range of Annapurna and Gangapurna in the south direction.

Enjoying pleasant time with rest days to acclimatize at Manang above 3,450 m high where our direction changes walking away from main Annapurna circuit trails to reach at picturesque high valley around Tilicho Lake.

A very scenic country hidden beyond Manang valley where Tilicho regarded as highest and holy lakes of Nepal, a great place to marvel its beautiful scenery encircled by high peaks of Gangapurna, Tilicho and Nilgiri’s.

From Tilicho Lake walk back to join the main trail of Annapurna circuit to reach at the base of Thorang-la pass, where next early morning climb takes you on top above 5, 5416 m at high Thorang la pass rewards you with mind-blowing panorama of mighty peaks.

Walk down to reach Mustang area at Muktinath a place with holy temple and a sacred mountain pilgrimage place where devotees visits to worship Lord Vishnu one of main Hindu God.

After a great adventure crossing over high Thorang-la pass where journey leads to lower areas of Kaligandaki River valley to reach at Jomsom a large town and headquarter of Mustang district.

As route leads further down into dense tree-lines and over world deepest gorge of Kaligandaki River located in the midst of towering Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain range to reach low warm area at Tatopani village.

Tatopani a place with natural hot spring as Tatopani means Hot-Water in Nepalese language, enjoying refreshing time where climb continues to reach at scenic Ghorepani village situated in the midst of lovely rhododendron forest.

At Ghorepani where early morning hike reaches you at high Poon Hill for stunning sunrise views over Himalayan Mountains that covers almost 360° wide angle Panorama.

Slowly our adventurous walks comes to an end on reach low warm paddy areas and farm villages where short interesting drive brings you at renowned and beautiful touristic city in Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Morning as per group size either in coach or tourist bus and car to reach Nepal Mid West to start our trek, as journey leads through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Besisar, headquarter town of Lamjung district.

From here following Marysangdi River to reach rural farm village at Syange for overnight stop in a nice local lodge by the River Marysangdi.

From Syange walk begins heading through rice terraces fields and villages and then with slow climb to Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges for trekkers.

After Jagat village walk leads past many villages of Chamje and Tal-Besi a nice hill area facing views of Manaslu and Lamjung peaks, on reaching at Tal another hour of good to Dharapani village for overnight stop, Dharapani a nice village situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking trail.

After Dharapani walk along winding trail within rhododendron and pine forest through Bagachap and Danque to Timang villages, from here onwards into more Buddhist culture, along with views of Mt. Manaslu, from Timang village few hours trek to Koto and then at Chame town for overnight stop, a major town and headquarter of Manang area.

From here air gets cooler on reaching closer to mountainous area, as walk follows through alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Masrsyangdi River upstream with few ups and down hills to Bhratang village.

From Bhratang village heading with short climb within nice pine forest to reach a high ridge at Dhukure Pokhari, a small place with few teahouses and lodge facing views of Chulus and Pisang peak, after lunch descend to lower Pisang village for overnight stop.

Pisang village offers great views of mountains, from here altitude gains slowly as morning walk leads into forest with short climb along with views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna, Chulus with Pisang peak.

After downhill walk towards flat valley at Hongde village, from here on tree lines disappears for arid and barren landscapes within cold, dry arctic climatic zone around scenic Manang valley enclosed by array of mountain range on both sides of the valley.

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village.

A necessary to spend a rest day to support acclimatization before heading higher altitude towards Thorang-la pass, at Manang take a short hike and explore Manang village and valley.

Manang a large and main village of area situated on a windswept valley at the bank of Marysangdi River beneath Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain range, a nice walk uphill for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang emerald Lake. 

From Manang route leads away from main trail of Annapurna circuit and beyond Manang Valley towards Tilicho Lake into sheer wilderness within close to high Himalayan peaks.

Morning walk lead past Manang village path diverts to south direction towards Khangsar village for overnight stop, the last human settlement after main Manang village.

Leaving the last permanent Khangsar village as morning leads to a climb facing grand views of Gangapurna and Tilicho Peaks as walk gets closer within mountainous wilderness.

Walking on small faint path with few short ups to reach at Tilicho Base Camp for overnight stop where you can catch views of snow peaks at near distance, afternoon free to enjoy the beauty of surrounding peaks and dramatic landscapes.

Morning leads to our main highlight of the adventure as route leads on high steep slope for short-while to descend at the shore of beautiful Tilicho Lake, a scenic spot surrounded by high peaks of Tilicho and Gangapurna Himal.

Enjoy hike around lake shore, Tilicho Lake considered as sacred spot for both Hindu and Buddhist, a lovely spot with fantastic experience walking around Tilicho Lake.

After a glorious scenic day around Tilicho Lake, afternoon walk heads to steep climb, then on gradual level path to reach our overnight stop at base camp of Tilicho Lake.

Return journey from Tilcho base camp heading much ups and down with grand views of peaks as walk slowly ends to reach our overnight stop at a small and isolated place called Siri-Kharka, after a great wonderful walk of the day.

After a great adventure beyond Manang valley, where morning leads to join back on the main trail of Annapurna circuit towards Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude walk with views of mountains, crossing small streams to reach at Yak Kharka, a small settlement with glorious close view of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Morning walk heads closer towards Thorang-la as the walk progress to cross a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, that leads at Thorang Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

An early morning start having breakfast then with long climb on steep sided and winding ridge towards Thorang-la pass at above 5,416 m / 17,700 ft, the top of Thorang-la festooned with thousands of Buddhist prayer flags.

The top offers super vista of dramatic landscapes with high snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Today an easy morning walks with stunning views of Mustang dry and beautiful landscape as route leads down at Kaligandaki River valley to reach at the bottom of a hill at Eklai Bhatti close on route to Kagbeni village.

From here walk on windy valley to reach at large Jomsom town, a headquarter of Mustang district located on Old Trans Himalaya Salt and Caravan Route of Nepal to Tibet, also the main hub of indigenous Thakali people of strong Buddhism religion and culture.

At Jomsom transfer into a nice hotel or lodge, afternoon free to explore around Jomsom and to witness immense culture and traditions of Thakali people of Lower Mustang and Kaligandaki River Valley.

Morning after breakfast transfer to Jomsom small airport for scenic short flight to land at famous and leading touristic spot of Nepal at Pokhara city for last and final overnight stop around this beautiful city with scenery of Annapurna Mountains and Lake.

Morning an overland journey to reach Kathmandu on leaving Pokhara after breakfast where drive lead on the same interesting highway to reach at Kathmandu and to your hotel, with afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities.

(Options for scenic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu of 30 minutes)

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.
