Himalaya Lungta Treks and Expeditions offer Everest Base Camp trekking, a slightly different to other local companies our itinerary days are carefully designed for trekkers to enjoy scenic mountain views and local culture with enough rest days.

Adventure that takes you within high and scenic Khumbu Valley facing views of giant peaks on daily walks, where route leads you to explore immense culture and colorful custom of Sherpa the High Landers of Everest interwoven with Buddhism religion.

Everest Base Camp trekking start with swift short flight in a small aircraft to land at nice town in Lukla, and then walking on the banks of Dudh Kosi River within scenic valley and gorge with climb to famous Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar much acclaimed large village of Khumbu and gateway to Everest and other adventures as well a capital for Khumbu Sherpa, an important place for local where once a week a busy and interesting Saturday market takes place.

At Namche with time for acclimatization hike and to witness native impressive cultures and traditional farm life, where walk continues higher up facing excellent views of Everest and other range of peaks to reach at scenic view point Tengboche, a beautiful spot with interesting monastery to visit.

At Tengboche enjoy grand panorama of high peaks with Everest and majestic Mt. Amadablam at close distance and visit the monastery interior adorned with colorful religious paintings, from Tengboche as walk leads away from green tree lines to reach higher country.

Journey follows on wide exposed terrain with time at Dingboche and Lobuche where walks finally reach you at main highlights of the adventure at Everest Base Camp enjoy exciting moments with views of Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers.

Return trek takes you to the highest spot on top Kalapathar a rocky hill at above 5,545 m high rewards with mind-blowing panorama of surrounding peaks with Everest and Mt. Pumori at close distance.

After a marvelous time achieving our goal where walk leads down to Namche and at Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region, where next early morning flight brings you back at Kathmandu to complete our wonderful adventure and lifetime experience of Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Starting early morning for short scenic flight to Lukla in a small aircraft where 30 minutes air journey brings you at Lukla airport, after panorama of snowcapped mountains range with Everest.

On Landing at Lukla where the airport is called Tenzing-Hillary tribute to first conqueror of Mt. Everest, from Lukla with refreshing break follow downhill route and on gradual winding trail past nice Sherpa to reach our first overnight stop at Phakding village by the glacial river Dudh Koshi.

Morning walk on pleasant path within alpine woodland of pines and rhododendron trees with views of snowcapped peak, walk follows upstream crossing over bridges to enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo.

The park listed in world heritage sites where trail follows to a high bridge and with uphill climb to Namche Bazaar, a wonderful large village, nearly the size of a town with colorful house serves as hotels and lodge.

At Namche Bazaar the last place with facilities of ATM, Banks, post office, Cyber Café, Trekking / Climbing shops and stores with many café, bakeries and restaurants with great views of Kwangde peaks towards south.

Namche Bazaar an ideal spot for rest day and acclimatization at 3,440 meters high before heading higher elevation. Morning after breakfast take short walk to the top of Namche at Park headquarter area with a museum full of information regarding Khumbu / Everest area of Sherpa religions, culture, history, mountaineering to flora and flora.

High hill of Namche offers stunning views of Amadablam, Tharmarserku, Kantega, Kwangde, Khumbila with Mt. Everest and Lhotse towards North, after an impressive morning head back to lodge for lunch with afternoon free to relax and catch up with the dairy and browse around the street of Namche, where once a week Saturday market / bazaar takes place. 

After a pleasant rest day at Namche, morning leads to a short climb and then on nice scenic trail within rhododendron and pine trees with views of Amadablam and Everest.

As walk then descend to Imjatse River at Phunge Tenga, a small place with few tea shops, a favorite lunch stop place.

With refreshing stop, second half of the journey leads to climb for few hours into cool shade of forest to reach on top at Tengboche and the monastery.

A scenic spot with grand views of Amadablam, Kantega, Thamersarkhu, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, a holy spot as the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.

At Tengboche monastery mountaineers also get blessed from high lama (priest) for successful and safe climb.

Morning enjoy panorama of mountains with Everest, after breakfast downhill into nice rhododendron and pines forest, a pleasant walk to reach a bridge over Imja Khola.

From here a slow climb to reach Pangboche village this is a last permanent village on route Everest Base Camp, after Pangboche tree lines ends for short rhododendron and juniper bushes.

Walk slowly leads with views of Mt. Amadablam at close distance, after a nice day trek reaching at Dingboche for overnight stop.

A pleasant rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization so that all can enjoy walks to reach at base camp safe and sound; from here altitude gains rapidly.

Dingboche offers views of Amadablam North Face with Island / Imjatse Peak, includes Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a short high climb to a high ridge provides views of world’s 5th highest Mt. Makalu and Amphu Labtsa peaks. 

After Dingboche, morning walk follows uphill for an hour and then a nice pleasant trail to Thugla ( Dugla) located on midway where Pheriche and Dingboche path joins towards Everest Base Camp.

Thugla a nice place for lunch break with views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Amadablam, after lunch a slow and short steep climb up to terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier, where you can notice memorials of unfortunate mountaineers and climbers.

From here a gradual walk to Lobuche for overnight stop in the comfort of a cozy lodge.

Morning starts on gradual path and the walk above Khumbu glacier with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest, after few hours of good walk reach Gorakshep.

Gorakshep with few nice lodges the last place facilities of overnight accommodation before Everest Base Camp; after a break walk continues to Everest Base Camp climbing over moraine to reach at Everest Base Camp.

Enjoying incredible moment for an hour at base camp within Khumbu Ice fall and glacier, return journey back to Gorakshep for overnight stop after achieving high lights of the trip.

An early morning climb to reach highest point of the adventure with steep climb for few hours to the top of Kalapathar, a black rocky hill at above 5,545 meters high, offering vista of surrounding high peaks with Mt. Everest at close distance.

After an incredible moment and feeling in high spirit down to Gorakshep and continue trek towards Pheriche windy valley for lunch stop.

Pheriche a temporary settlement near Dingboche with more than 20 lodges and teahouses with grand views of Taboche, Cholatse, Amadablam and as far to

Mt. Cho-Oyu in the distance north west.

From here on easy walk with short ups and down to Pangboche village for overnight stop

From Pangboche pleasant downhill to a bridge with an hour climb up to Tengboche back within trees lines and green vegetation.

With time at Tengboche retrace the journey back to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop before Lukla.

A pleasant and relaxing walk as route heads back to Lukla on this last day trek of the adventure, with few short climb brings you back to Lukla for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest and farewell to our loyal and friendly porters.

Flight starts early morning, transfer to Tenzing and Hillary air terminal at Lukla airport on boarding the plane a sweeping flight of 35 minutes brings you back in Kathmandu and then transfer to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

A free and spare or contingency day at Kathmandu in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla might occurs sometimes due to bad and unfavorable weather conditions, if all goes well on time as our itinerary days, interested people you can book for optional tour around Kathmandu at place of great interest or free for individual activities.

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on high Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.

  • Personal Trekking gear and equipment, down or duvet jackets, sleeping bags. (Sleeping bags and down jackets and climbing equipment can be hired in Kathmandu at reasonable cost if it's too much to carry from home)
  • Emergency Evacuation by any means of Transportations and personal medical kit.
  • Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal / medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
