Kanchanjunga with an altitude of 8586 m, is the third highest mountain in the world that lies both on the north-east part of Nepal and partly in Sikkim of India. This mountain is known as ‘Five Treasure of Snow’ after its five high peaks. This route is also considered as one of the finest trekking route to experience the Nepalese culture and lifestyle of Rai, Limbu and the Buddhist Tibetan cultures, varied ecological and geographical diversity, panoramic views of the peaks. The different teahouse and lodges can be encountered along the dense forest of Rhododendron to the alpine forests. Kanchanjunga has also been worshipped by the people of Darjeeling and Sikkim as the area is believed to be homeland of the mountain deity.
