About Mardi Himal Trek

Mardi Himal trekking takes you to hidden pockets within massive Annapurna Himalaya range of mountains where Mardi Himal is one of the lesser peaks close to towering Machhapuchare Himal the famous ‘Fish Tail’.

Mardi Himal also a trekking peak stands at below 6,000 m at the height of 5,555m / 18,225 ft high located on the southern flank of majestic Mt. Machhapuchare the virgin and unclimbed peaks of Himalaya at 6,997 m high with its twin summit that appears like a shape of ‘Fish Tail.’

Mardi Himal situated a mere distance from scenic and touristic Pokhara city where drive leads to the point of trek, then starting walk with climb to nice lovely village at Dhampus within Gurung village the tribe of Annapurna Himalaya range.

Grand panorama of Annapurna-Dhaulagiri and Manaslu range with Machhapuchare Himal along with sunrise views from Dhampus village where walk leads beyond villages and the into deep woodland of rhododendron and pines.

As walk progress with marvelous views of peaks slowly route leads to high areas of Mardi Himal where tree lines disappear for short rhododendron and juniper bushes.

On leaving human habilitation and villages to reach at High Camp located on a high ridge, having rest day for excursion and hike to reach at Mardi Himal Base Camp on the highest point of the adventure.

At Mardi Himal base camp enjoy incredible views of mountain range within close to Mardi Himal and towering Machhapuchare Himal, where you feel on top of the world with array of snow capped peaks that surrounds you along with rolling green hills.

After a wonderful time and experience return journey on the same trail for sometimes and then changing our route with long downhill walk to reach back at low warm farm village at Siding where short drive brings you at scenic Pokhara on completing our glorious adventure on Mardi Himal Trekking

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Himalayan Lungta staff and guide for transfer to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city around Thamel the exciting place of the city, on checking your rooms meet at the lobby for group briefing regarding treks and other necessary information.

Morning depart from the hotel where our city guide takes you around great places of interest with tour of world heritage sites, with time in the afternoon preparation for the trek.

Morning as per group size either in coach or tourist bus and car to reach Nepal Mid-West at scenic city of Pokhara, as journey takes you through rural farm villages and towns to reach at Pokhara for overnight in a nice hotel by the lake of Phewa.

Pokhara a leading touristic city blessed with natural scenery of high Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains that reflects on its beautiful lakes of Begnas and Phewa.

Pokhara is the starting and ending point of many treks and adventure around Annapurna Himalaya range.

From Pokhara short drive beyond the city outskirt to reach at Phedi, where walk begins heading uphill past farm villages and small patch of forest to reach at Dhampus village for overnight stop.

Dhampus village populated by Gurung the tribe of Annapurna region offers massive mountain panorama of Annapurna-Manaslu with majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail peak.

From Dhampus village continue morning walk, after catching super sunrise views over chain of peaks as route leads past forest with slow climb to reach at Potana located within nice cool woodland with views of Annapurna.

After a short break gradual climb to into forest then reaching a ridge top at Pritim Deurali, a scenic viewpoint with some few lodges around, from here our route leaves the mains trail heading into forested area to our overnight stop at Kokar or Forest Camp.

Located in the middle of serene woodland covered with tall rhododendron-pines-magnolia-oaks and fir tree lines the place offers few nice and simple lodge for trekkers for overnight stay.

From Forest Camp, morning walk leads higher on uphill path with steep climb to reach a pasture land for overnight stop on route Mardi base camp at Low Camp also called as Badal Danda, a high ridge with couple of nice simple lodge facing super views of surrounding landscapes and mountains at close range.

From this peaceful area, morning starts with climb into dense forest, as walk slowly follows into a hidden trails within tranquil environment with glimpse of snow clad peaks and then reaching closer to mountainous zone, where tree lines stops for short alpine bushes and shrubs with dwarf rhododendron known as azalea, junipers with views of towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ with Mardi Himal at close distance.

Slowly walk leads to High Camp for overnight stop, afternoon enjoy marvelousviews of grand landscapes and snow-capped mountains.

Another overnight stop at High Camp, where hike takes you at the base of Mardi Himal, walks follows a faint trail on high ridge of Mardi Himal facing grand panorama of Annapurna Himalayan range, leading at the bottom of Mardi Himal located right beneath towering peak of Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’.

Here great views and on the highest spot of the adventure close to above 4,500 m high within mountains and then retrace walk back to High Camp for last overnight around high Mardi Himal area.

From High Camp enjoying wonderful time around high hills of Mardi and Annapurna Himalaya, where morning walks leads on the same path retracing the journey back at Low Camp for overnight stop.

Morning walk starts with long descend further towards low and warmer valley to reach at Sidang village, walk follows on within dense forested area, and then taking a new fresh route with more downhill towards farm areas and villages to Sidang for overnight stop, located near to the road head for next morning drive towards Pokhara.

Morning our walk ends taking a to Pokhara city as drive follows Mardi River downstream towards Mardipul village and then downhill all the way to Pokhara for last overnight stop within Annapurna range, after a most enjoyable and scenic time on high hills of Annapurna and Mardi Himal.

Morning an overland journey to reach Kathmandu on leaving Pokhara after breakfast, where drive lead on the same interesting highway to reach at Kathmandu and to your hotel, with afternoon free to enjoy your own personal activities.

Last day in Nepal with memorable times and experience on Himalaya, as time for your international flight and then depart from the hotel, where our staff and guide transfers you for your flight homeward bound.

  • Personal Trekking gear and equipment, down or duvet jackets, sleeping bags. (Sleeping bags and down jackets and climbing equipment can be hired in Kathmandu at reasonable cost if it's too much to carry from home)
  • Emergency Evacuation by any means of Transportations and personal medical kit.
  • Early return from the trips or breaking up the journey due to personal / medical reason clients has to bear extra expenses in Kathmandu or on route with related expenses as there will be no refund from the company in such situation.
